			Raymond B. Winter State Park, often called Halfway Dam by the locals, is along Route 192 in the northwest corner of Union County, Central Pennsylvania, surrounded by Bald Eagle State Forest. Halfway Lake has a popular swimming beach, and fishing, hiking, hunting, and camping are popular as well.

   Biking is available on designated trails, and Bald Eagle State Forest trails can be accessed through the park. Each campsite has a fire ring, picnic table, and lantern holder. Most sites can accommodate a trailer or RV and have electricity hookups. There is one campground host site, but hosts are required to work 40 hours per week for a two week minimum. Be careful not to leave food out, as bears do frequent this campground! Rapid Run and Halfway Lake are stocked as a cold water fishery. There are 11 trails that cover only a little over six miles in R.B. Winter State Park. Many of them continue into Bald Eagle State Forest, and the Mid State Trail goes beyond that. Most are pretty easy. Happy hiking! Ice fishing is allowed on Halfway Lake, but ice thickness is not monitored. Cross country skiing is available on five miles of trails. Snowmobiles must be registered with the DCNR. Five miles of trails are open for snowshoeing. A section of Halfway Lake is roped off for swimming. There is no smoking on the swimming beach.
