Local parks are the hearts of many communities. Towns and cities across the country provide spaces for all people to gather and recreate. Anything from a small playground to a large natural area with trails may constitute a local park. Sometimes they encompass a historic building or cultural center. The ParksBase is not too picky about what makes a local park, as long as it is open to the public (with or without a fee).
There are far too many local parks in the country for me to catalog all of them myself. For now, I am mostly working in Pennsylvania, but soon I will be moving outward from there. If you would like to help me document parks, one or many, you can go to the Post a Park page.
