Not all towns have dog parks, but they are becoming more popular. Dog parks, as the name suggests, are open to dogs as well as people. In fact, they are designed for dog walking and dog socialization. They range from a simple enclosure where dogs may run around without a leash to more sophisticated playground-like areas for dogs with obstacle courses similar to those you might see at a dog show. People can come without a dog, too, especially if they need a doggy fix.
