Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve is in Chase County, Kansas.

Fortunately or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it, tallgrass prairie makes great farmland. Only a tiny fraction of what once was remains today. Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve protects some of what is left to ensure it doesn’t disappear completely.
